The algorithm gives consumers&#8217; preferences weight:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meaningful, educative stories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respectful, authentic content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe, respectful behaviour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Facebook Algorithm examines every piece of material that can appear in your newsfeed including advertisements, posts from pages you follow and posts written by your friends and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Looking at Signals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To evaluate how relevant content will be to the user, the algorithm looks at a collection of signals, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Date of posting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who made it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your level of engagement with the poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What sort of material is it? (e.g. link, photo, or video)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How you respond to related posts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When is it for you? (as you are scrolling)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The speed of your internet connection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Based on the signals you provide, the algorithm observes your behaviour to determine what you enjoy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Making Predictions &nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each signal is then used to make predictions. Consider that you adore the articles shared by your gardening organisation, particularly the instructional films that demonstrate how to trim your leaves or build compost. These signals will be used by the Facebook News Feed Algorithm to forecast how pertinent the information is to you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Evaluating the Material<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Algorithm then assigns each piece of material a score. Higher-scoring content appears at the top of your News Feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Favourites<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Users have the option of adding up to 30 pages and persons to Favourites, formerly known as &#8220;<strong>See First<\/strong>&#8220;. These accounts&#8217; posts will show up higher in the feed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the down arrow in the top right corner of Facebook, followed by Settings &amp; Privacy and News Feed Preferences to access Favourites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In-feed options<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on any post and you\u2019ll see the option. I don\u2019t want to see this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then choose Hide post to tell Facebook you want fewer posts of that nature in your Feed.
